THE MC ALESTER, OKLAHOMA CAVE MONSTERS by Patr ick O ' Connell
There is supposed to be an inner-earth cave entrance northeast of McAlester, OK. Explorers of the cave report that you can enter through a small entrance on a knoll and once inside, there are large steps going down to an unknown depth. The steps, measuring 18" high and 10' from side to side, are about 3' in width. In "Inner Earth Entrances" (by Bruce Walton, vol. 1, part 1) it is reported that the cave has been explored to a depth of a mile, without finding an end to the steps! There is a "bottomless pit" alongside the steps, according to the cave explorers!
One group of 3 cave explorers encountered a giant beast (Yeti?) that walked on 2 feet, almost like a man. When one of the men was attacked by the creature, he fired his colt .45 at the beast. As he fired, the other 2 escaped, but only after a rockslide covered the cave entrance. While the 2 were removing the rocks to rescue their companion, the monster backed off. The man inside reloaded his gun. By the time the 2 men outside could clear away the rocks covering the entrance, more monsters appeared, and as the man tried to escape, one of the creatures grabbed him by the feet. He fired point blank and emptied his .45 in desperation to escape. After they escaped the tunnel, the creatures did not leave the cave. The 3 men, who later joined the military to fight in the Korean war, planned to re-enter the cave at a later date. In May 1981, Rev. Charles Marcoux wrote the New Atlantean Journal, that unless you are a small person, it is difficult to enter the cave. He stated, " the old man who owns the land, it was on, wouldn't let anyone around it after all that has happened there. He put crosses and hexes all around the place to ward off evil spirits. To many of his livestock turned up missing. Rev. Marcoux, stated that Victor C. Johnson, personally talked to the elderly owner of the land (now deceased) and obtained additional firsthand facts concerning the owner's experiences with the cave. Later, in 1970, Rev. Marcoux was to have accompanied Mr. Johnson on an expedition to the cave. Unfortunately, the trip was postponed... What forces lie behind the monsters? What energies wait untapped within the mysterious cave? Certainly, the powers are beyond the comprehension of the average "white" man. Rev. Marcoux writes that it is likely that somewhere in the Grand Canyon, there exists the remains of A Great Ancient Civilization, and that their underground tunnels spread out, in all directions, throughout the entire Southwest. Tradition has it that, according to Hopi legend, the tribe came from the underworld. Rev. Marcoux is convinced that somewhere from the Colorado River, the Hopi left their underworld civilizations! Coming next issue: "Sipapu-Cave?" Entrance to the Hopi Underworld!
